SUNNY BAKES was born from a passion for sharing one of Brazil’s most beloved traditions: pão de queijo.
Pão de queijo is more than just a snack—it's a cherished Brazilian tradition. Originating in the heart of Minas Gerais—a region in Brazil known for its cozy kitchens and rich food culture—this is a delicious bread made out of cheese and tapioca flour, a starch derived from the cassava root, an indigenous plant native to South America.
Naturally gluten-free and delightfully chewy, pão de queijo has been a part of Brazilian life for centuries, passed down through generations as a symbol of warmth, family, and shared moments. Its golden crust and soft interior make it irresistible, offering a taste of Brazil’s rich culinary heritage in every bite.

At SUNNY BAKES, we believe that the heart of every pão de queijo lies in the ingredients. We take pride in sourcing only the finest, most authentic elements to create a bread that’s as true to its Brazilian roots as possible. We use organic tapioca and real cheese, with locally sourced ingredients, non-GMO, and no preservatives or artificial stuff—ever.
We are committed to keeping it simple yet extraordinary, letting the natural goodness shine through. For us, it’s not just about baking; it’s about honoring the craft, the culture, and the joy that comes from sharing something made with love.


OUR STORY
Bringing Brazilian Flavours to Australia
Born from a love for simple ingredients and vibrant culture, we bake each pão de queijo fresh on-site. We started our journey at the iconic Eumundi Markets, a vibrant hub on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, internationally known for its local artisan goods, fresh produce, and unique atmosphere, attracting over 1 million visitors annually.
We are based at the Gourmet Food Loop Area every Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Our small yellow trailer might be tiny, but it’s packed with passion (and cheese!).
SPECIAL TOUCH
Creativity Inside Every Bite
At Sunny Bakes, we love putting our own twist on the traditional pão de queijo. While we always respect the original recipe, we also like to play a little—adding flavours that surprise and delight.
We offer flavour-infused versions like roast garlic, mixed herbs, and olives—each one bringing something unique while keeping the soul of the original intact.
At the markets, we take it even further with delicious fillings added right on-site. Our creamy cheese filling, inspired by the beloved Brazilian Catupiry, is blended with different flavours to create a rich, savory bite. And for something sweet, we do a Nutella-filled pão de queijo that’s just as indulgent as it sounds.
